“Beaches” Musical To Premiere In 2014
Bette Midler is (almost) back on Broadway, and now one of her best-known movies, “Beaches,” has become a musical. The show, with a book by Iris Rainer Dart (who wrote the original novel) and Friend of LemonWade Thom Thomas, lyrics by Dart, and music by David Austin, will premiere at the Signature Theatre in Virginia in 2014. It will be directed by Eric Schaeffer. Yes, this is the movie with “Wind Beneath My Wings.”
