Your Weekend: LemonWade Recommends
Movies: I don’t think the lousy reviews for “A Good Day To Die Hard” are going to dissuade die-hard fans of this Bruce Willis franchise. For the art-house set, “No,” with Gael Garcia Bernal, looks inviting. Television: Friday brings a “Live from Lincoln Center” celebration of Kander & Ebb. Sunday brings us a new “Good Wife” and Beyonce telling us more than we need to know on HBO. Music: Glad to see that the Grammys gave a sales bump to Alabama Shakes. Riding the train called Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the Philadelphia Orchestra said it will release its first recording on a major label in 16 years, on Deutsche Grammophon. That’s good news for a group emerging from bankruptcy. Books: I just re-read all three thousand pages of Proust’s novel in French: I need a hug. Reading it in any language should be on your bucket list. Sports: I find all-star games dull so I’ll avoid the NBA version this weekend. Finally: Have you noticed that the days are getting longer? Can spring be far behind?
