Forget Beyonce: Carol Was The First!
Well, you and I both learned something today: the first celebrity to perform at a Super Bowl halftime show was Carol Channing. It was 1970, and the concert was at Tulane’s stadium, in New Orleans. Unlike Beyonce, Carol didn’t pre-record her tracks or look like a gyrating hologram. No hologram could stand in for Miss Channing.
