Your Weekend: LemonWade Recommends

Movies: “Amour” is going to win the next Oscar for foreign-language film. It tells the story of an elderly French couple eloquently, but it’s tough stuff: see it AFTER Christmas. “Jack Reacher” looks like mediocre Tom Cruise. Save your money for “Les Miz.” Television: CBS has scheduled a mini-marathon of “The Good Wife” on Friday. Unfortunately, all the episodes have the Kalinda love-life subplot that’s been sinking the series recently. Music: I’ve been listening to Howard Shore’s “The Hobbit” soundtrack: not bad. Meanwhile, Bruno Mars is still “Locked Out of Heaven.” Books: Robert Gottlieb’s “Great Expectations: The Sons and Daughters of Charles Dickens” would be on the top of my bedside stack even if Gottlieb weren’t my former boss. Sports: I’m not bummed that the Giants may not even make the playoffs because every week brings more evidence that the Knicks are for real. Finally: Okay, the world didn’t end today. So what are you doing for the REST of your life?
