“Zero Dark Thirty” To Win NY Critics?
Blogger Jeff Wells predicts that the New York Film Critics Circle, the first of the big pre-Oscar awards, will award Best Picture to “Zero Dark Thirty” when they vote on Monday. I certainly never expected the group to choose “Les Miserables” or “Lincoln” or “Argo,” one of which is going to win the Oscar. “Zero Dark,” about the raid to get Bin Laden, has “austerity” and “integrity” and all those other boring virtues that some critics like — or think they’re supposed to like. Jessica Chastain may top Oscar frontrunner Jen Lawrence for Best Actress.
