Your Weekend: LemonWade Recommends

Movies: “Life of Pi” is very beautiful, but people who think it’s a serious Oscar contender are bonkers. Now may be the time to take the kids to “Wreck-It Ralph.” Television: Johnny Depp shows up on Sunday’s “Family Guy” as Edward Scissorhands. But the main event Sunday is Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor in “Liz and Dick.” Apparently, this is disaster of a very high order. Music: “The Voice”‘s Cassadee Pope has an iTunes hit with “Over You.” It’s country-pop treacle, but I can’t stop listening. Been absorbing Andras Schiff’s interpretation of Bach’s “The Well-Tempered Clavier.” Astonishing. Books: “The Patriarch,” a new biography of Joseph P. Kennedy, is on the top of my bedside stack. Read Christopher Buckley’s review of it here. Sports: I’m suicidal every time the Knicks lose, but they are still off to a galloping start. Finally: If the groggy effects of turkey and gravy have worn off, why not get off your butt and do some volunteer work? There’s so much need out there!
