Anne Hathaway Joins Next Spielberg Flick
Miss Hathaway (you have to be over 40 to know why “Miss Hathaway” is funny) has joined Mr. Spielberg’s next project, which interests me. When it comes to 21st-century sci-fi, I’m more a fan of the director’s “Minority Report” than I am of his “A.I.” But I’m not displeased he’s revisiting artificial intelligence in this next movie. Called “Robopocalypse,” the flick is based on the bestselling 2011 science fiction novel by Daniel H Wilson. The storyline centers on a near future where domestic robots are commonplace and artificial intelligence is about to become a reality. When Archos, a supremely intelligent AI, achieves self-awareness, he sets about destroying human civilisation in order to preserve Earth’s biodiversity.
