Maggie Smith’s Latest Movie
It’s called “Quartet,” and it’s directed by Dustin Hoffman. It’s about a retirement home for opera singers. Costars Pauline “Shirley Valentine” Collins, Billy Connolly, and Michael Gambon. Could be impossibly, unbearably twee or something that would go down nicely with a cup of tea. And let’s not forget what a big worldwide hit Maggie’s last movie was, the Marigold hotel thing. As Maggie says, “Old people are taking over the cinema now.”
