Kids Run Screaming From Movie Theatre
I saw “Psycho” at the age of five: I slipped away from my father’s office and snuck in to the theatre. If the experience scarred me for life I hope it was in a productively twisted way. So I can’t get too upset by this news story: Children attending a cinema in Britain fled in terror at the weekend after bungling staff accidentally played the new horror movie “Paranormal Activity 4” instead of cartoon comedy “Madagascar 3.” The opening scenes of “Paranormal Activity” show a bloodied corpse being hurled at the camera, leaving children as young as five screaming and crying in terror. Oh, please: they see more explicit fare on their video-game consoles. They’ll get over it, though I hope their parents took the tots out for an ice cream after the movie experience, to calm the nerves.
