Prime Minister Cameron Is Into “Dick”
Opponents often call him a dick, but today British Prime Minister David Cameron (pictured) is more of a Moby Dick. Cameron has taken part in a reading of Melville’s 161-year-old novel that aims to introduce “Moby-Dick” to a new generation. The project goes live to the world today. Cameron has voiced chapter 30 of this American classic as part of “The Moby-Dick Big Read.” The novel famously starts with the line, “Call me Ishmael.” Cameron is among a number of stars, including Stephen Fry, Tilda Swinton, Benedict Cumberbatch and Sir David Attenborough, who have jumped on board the ambitious project to broadcast all 135 chapters of Herman Melville’s novel over 135 days.
