Movies: “Argo,” about Iranian revolutionaries storming the U.S. embassy in Tehran, in 1980, is unavoidable, even for those of us who prefer Ben Affleck only as a director not as an actor. Television: Saturday night is your chance to catch up with NBC’s newest hit, “Revolution,” and with its best new hour-long drama, “Chicago Fire.” Meanwhile, the insane 9 pm Sunday-night pile-up gets even worse with a new season of “The Walking Dead.” Music: If you think PSY’s “Gangnam Style” is a one-off, you’re wrong: K-pop is about to invade the west. Books: The first volume of Ken Follett’s trilogy was mediocre, so I’ll skip the second, “Winter of the World,” and have an extra twenty hours of my life back. Sports: Maybe the Yankees manager should sit Granderson, too: he’s such a strike-out king that my brother David and his son Jonathan spell his first name Kurtis not Curtis. In NFL news, the Jets stink so bad they may as well start Tebow. Finally: Big Bird, which Mitt Romney likes even though it was created by a gay couple together 50 years and Romney doesn’t think such couples should have the freedom to marry, is going to be huge on Halloween.
