This “Elisir” Is A Potent Musical Elixir
Donizetti’s 1832 opera, “L’Elisir d’Amore,” is great fun, and Bart Sher’s new production for the Metropolitan Opera gives the show some dramatic flair. (Hard to do in a hall as cavernous as the Met’s.) I felt thoroughly entertained, and I urge you, if you have any interest in music, to see the production, which stars Anna Netrebko and has seven more airings this season.
