“Wuthering Heights” Gets A TV Adaptation

My favorite new series of this past summer was “Political Animals,” created by Greg Berlanti. We’re still waiting to see if that program has a second season; meanwhile, Berlanti keep churning out new ideas. The latest: a modern-day adaptation of “Wuthering Heights.” Titled “Napa,” the hourlong drama will be written by “The Whole Truth”‘s Tom Donaghy, who will executive produce alongside Berlanti. Emily Bronte’s “Wuthering Heights” was first published in the mid-1800s and revolves around the doomed love affair between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff. NBC’s take will be set against the backdrop of Napa Valley. So instead of smoldering among the moors, Heathcliff will be smoldering among the…vineyards.
