Emmy Awards: And The Winners Are…
…totally predictable. Every time I drifted back to the Emmys last night I kept hoping one of the winners would be unpredictable. But every single winner — and the Emmys have a zillion of them — had been predicted by at least some of the prognosticators. All those people who thought “Breaking Bad” or “Downton” would beat “Homeland” for best drama: puh-leaze! Terrorism is more topical than crystal meth (“Breaking”) and stately homes (“Downton”). And “Modern Family” continued its run in the comedy department: even Ann Romney likes it, so how could it lose? Plus, the show’s sexpot, Sofia Vergara (pictured), was tops on the red carpet.
