Zadie Smith’s New Novel: Any Good?
Zadie Smith (pictured), author of “On Beauty” and “White Noise,” is one of the few contemporary fiction writers whose every book I will purchase with ready money. Her latest is called “NW.” It follows the fortunes of four thirtysomethings who grew up together in London. This reviewer calls it “flawed, fragmentary, and undeniably brilliant.” The New York Times review is considerably less glowing. Feh.
