Michael Chabon’s New Novel: Midwives
I’m still waiting for Michael Chabon’s novel “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay” to be made into a movie. (Stephen Daldry was going to direct at one point.) In the meantime, we have the writer’s new fiction, “Telegraph Avenue,” to console us. Released on Sept. 11, the book is about two men of different races running a record store on the street that connects Berkeley and Oakland — and their wives, partners in a midwifery business.
