Julia Child Keeps Up With Letterman
I know God’s 100th birthday was yesterday, but I can’t stop watching YouTube videos of her today. One of my faves is Julia on David Letterman’s show. You know Letterman: overgrown frat boy who specializes in smart-ass put-downs of his guests, no matter how august they are. Julia doesn’t miss a beat. She clowns with every bit as much aplomb as Dave does, even when it turns out his show doesn’t have the proper equipment to make a hamburger, forcing her to improvise the ingredients into beef tartare.
