Jimmy Fallon: The Joy Of The Turn-Down
Jimmy Fallon says he was asked to host next year’s Academy Awards but declined the gig. The talk-show host told Matt Lauer Wednesday that “it’s an honor to be asked by the academy, but it’s not my year.” But of course there’s a special, evil pleasure to be had by turning something down: “Oh, I’m so sorry, Harvard, I’ve decided to go to Purdue.” Or: “Thanks, but I’ve decided I don’t want to be on ‘American Idol’ after all.” Jimmy’s turn-down leaves the possibility of a Billy Crystal return; he has said he’s open to it.
