People keep telling me that Ben Lewin’s “The Sessions,” which will be released in late October, is touching, thoughtful and comforting — an emotional, erotic variation on the themes in “My Left Foot,” “The Sea Inside” and “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.” Also, the hype is getting intense for the lead actor of “The Sessions,” John Hawkes, who plays a quadriplegic invalid who hires a sex therapist to cure his virginity.
