“Bunheads” Woos Sutton From Broadway

“Bunheads” premieres June 11 on ABC Family. It’s the tale of a Las Vegas showgirl, who impulsively marries a man, moves to his sleepy coastal town, and takes an uneasy role at her new mother-in-law’s dance school. It stars Sutton Foster, who must have got tired of making Broadway money in her Tony-award-winning “Anything Goes” and decided that anything — anything — on TV would be better than having to do eight shows a week. (I’ve never understood why TV is considered “easier”: you have to get up at dawn every day to sit in the makeup chair. On Broadway, you get to stay up late and sleep in.)

  1. I love Sutton Foster, and I’m looking forward to this show.

  2. I hope she’s getting paid a lot.

  3. Finally: a dance show that’s scripted instead of filled with “real” tots.
