Barbra Streisand Goes Home To Brooklyn
On Barbra Streisand’s 70th birthday last month, I listened to the final medley from her “My Name Is Barbra” concert: absolutely stupendous. I mentioned my reaction to a friend who loves early Barbra as much as I do. He replied: “She may be a bitch, but she’s a once-in-a-lifetime bitch.” But neither he nor I is planning to see Babs in her just-announced back-to-Brooklyn concert. The tickets will be exhorbitantly expensive, and the last time we saw her in an arena she was stiff and not so fab.
