“Best Exotic Marigold”: Judi, Judi, Judi
You’d think that Dame Maggie (Smith) and Dame Judi (Dench) would be the fiercest of rivals: they are both 77, both British, and both contenders for the Greatest English-Speaking Senior Citizen Actress alive. But no: they are quite good friends and work together occasionally. Latest time: “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” to be released tomorrow. Dame Judi is getting better advance reviews for her work here than is Dame Maggie. But I don’t think Mags is worried: I’m pretty sure she got a significant raise to do Season 3 of “Downton Abbey.”
