Duran Duran To Headline Olympics Opening
The outdoor gig in London’s Hyde Park will feature acts from all four nations of the UK, with Duran Duran representing England. At least most people will have heard of the group, which is more than one can say for Stereophonics (Wales), Paolo Nutini (Scotland), and Snow Patrol (Northern Ireland). The concert on 27 July will coincide with the Olympics opening ceremony, which will be broadcast on big screens in the park in between performances.
