Your Weekend: LemonWade Recommends

Movies: Not even my love of Emily Blunt can get me to “The Five-Year Engagement.” My interest in Edgar Allan Poe makes me long to see “The Raven.” Television: PBS airs “Chautauqua: An American Narrative” on Friday for cultural-history buffs. In the Sunday-at-9 sweepstakes, I’m losing interest in “The Good Wife” in favor of “Game of Thrones” on HBO and “Birdsong” on PBS. Music: By all means, sample Jack White’s new CD, “Blunderbuss.” Some people think Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe” will be the Song of the Summer. I say: too early to tell. Books: Chad Mureta’s “App Empire” tells you how to have a career in tech. I’m still reading Dickens’ “Great Expectations.” Sports: Mets have a winning record! The Rangers just had a thrilling Game 7 vs. Ottawa. Caps are next. Finally: It’s not even summer and I’m already happy I live in an apartment and don’t have to mow the lawn.

  1. I agree that Chautauqua looks interesting. But I still like The Good Wife.

  2. Make no mistake: Call My Maybe is THE song of the summer.

  3. I agree that Birdsong is terrific.
