Bravo Renews “Shahs Of Sunset”
Amid ratings highs last Sunday, Bravo has announced that it has renewed the Ryan Seacrest Productions series, Shahs of Sunset. The show following upwardly mobile Iranian-Americans living in Beverly Hills scored its most-watched episode with more than 1.5 million total viewers tuning into last Sunday’s finale. I can’t report that my Iranian-American friends are happy. Both of them have strong senses of humor and both of them hate the show. One of them, Reza, told me: “It’s not even clever. It’s just completely stupid. The show has about as much to do with the Persians I know as ‘Aladdin’ does.”
