Movies: Definitely want to see the new horror movie, “The Cabin in the Woods.” Of the arty fare, Oscar nominee “Monsieur Lazhar” looks best. Television: PBS’s “Art in the 21st Century” premieres on Friday by looking at Ai Weiwei and Catherine Opie. ABC starts its weekend-long “Titanic” miniseries on Saturday and then it’s the usual Sunday-night-9-pm pile-up: “The Good Wife,” “Masterpiece,” and “Game of Thrones.” Music: Can’t wait to hear Bonnie Raitt’s new CD, “Slipstream.” Nicki Minaj’s new album is already slipping down the iTunes list: a Madonna-like second-week-sales drop? Books: I’m celebrating the 200th anniversary of Dickens’ birth by re-reading “Great Expectations.” Unspeakably good! I’ll peer into the new Grisham, “Calico Joe,” at the bookstore. Sports: I’m watching hockey right now more than I expected. Why? The Rangers — who won their opener convincingly — in the playoffs. Finally: It’s Friday the 13th.
