Will New Bond Movie Kill Off Judi Dench?
I pride myself in having a degree in Advanced Dench Studies (not easy, when most of her stage career has been in London), but I can’t say that her role as M in the James Bond movies has ever been one of my favorites. Still, I’m feeling a little misty-eyed at the thought that her M character may be dispatched in the upcoming James Bond movie, “Skyfall.” When Judi Dench and Maggie Smith and Vanessa Redgrave go, for me it will be a little like when Queen Elizabeth goes: why go on living?
