Liberace Musical Aiming For Broadway
While awaiting that Liberace movie starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, here’s what we get in the meantime: a heading-for-Broadway musical called “All That Glitters: An Unauthorized Biography of a Legend.” Having a workshop next month in New York, the musical is directed and choreographed by Alexander DeJong, who also has written the music and lyrics, and cowritten the book with James A. Walsh. Here’s the best part: the costumes are by Bob Mackie. Mackie once said, “The woman who wears my clothes is not afraid to be noticed.” Liberace was not afraid to be noticed.
