Maybe “Dark Shadows” Isn’t So Bad
Jeffrey Wells reports: ‘A guy I know who gets around has seen “almost all” of Tim Burton‘s “Dark Shadows.” He reports the following: “While it has ‘Beetlejuice’ elements, this is not a broad comedy. It’s a gothic romance with strong farcical elements, but the trailer makes it seem like “Love at First Bite” and it definitely is not.’ The report goes on to say that “Dark Shadows” is more “Sweeney Todd” than “Addams Family.” But I didn’t like the “Sweeney Todd” movie, so that knowledge doesn’t exactly soothe my fears.
