“30 Rock” Gives St. Paddy’s Surreal-ness
This season of “30 Rock” has been devoted to holiday themes: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Leap Day, and, last night, St. Patrick’s Day. Unsurprisingly, Liz Lemon (whose ethnic roots supposedly are German, which is weird because I’m also a Lemon and my Lemon roots are in the British isles) doesn’t like St. Paddy’s. So her ex-boyfriend Dennis Duffy (Dean Winters) came back and drove a wedge between her and boyfriend Criss (played by James Marsden, pictured with Tina Fey). The most bizarre moment was when the show cut to an Allstate commercial and it starred Mayhem — played by Dean Winters.
