“Luck” Cancellation: Buzzkill For HBO
HBO’s series “Luck” may not have been among its top-rated, but it was brimming with prestige: Michael Mann, David Milch, Dustin Hoffman. And it wasn’t cheap to produce per episode, not to mention the heavy start-up costs. So no matter how HBO may try to spin it, the cancellation of the racetrack program is a black eye for the network. Not to mention, more seriously, a horrible thing for the three horses that died.
