Your Weekend: LemonWade Recommends
Movies: For the kids? “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax” of course. For the teens and the teens-at-heart, there’s the out-of-control party movie, “Project X.” Television: As usual, Sunday night has the best stuff:
“The Good Wife,” which I’m slowly going off of; and the series premiere of “GCB,” which gives Dallas a good/bad name. Music: Once again, death is the best career move: Davy Jones’s demise caused “The Monkees: Greatest Hits” to shoot up the charts. Esperanza Spalding’s Oscar appearance boosted her CD “Chamber Music Society.” Books: Katherine Boo’s latest is heartbreaking: “Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, death, and hope in a Mumbai undercity.” The pre-movie-release clock keeps ticking for me and “The Hunger Games.” Sports: The countdown begins to March Madness. I would be ecstatic to go through a whole week without seeing the name Jeremy Lin. Finally: If you make $50,000 a year, you are among the richest one percent on the planet. Remember that the next time you can’t pay your monthly student-loan bill.
