LaBruce’s Sex/Religion Show Is Attacked
Filmmaker Bruce LaBruce, whose sexually explicit work like “L.A. Zombie” sometimes causes controversy, has a new photo show in Madrid that combines carnality with religion. Well-known Spanish artists and actors like Rossy de Palma (pictured, left), of the Almodovar movies, have posed in provocative poses reflecting the way in which spiritual feeling can be sublimated sexual feeling. It didn’t take long for conservative Catholic groups to register their fury: an apparent attack was waged on the gallery on Friday.
