Spiderman In The Rehearsal Room
I will leave it to others to dissect the details of the new “Spiderman” trailer, starring Andrew Garfield. What I want to tell you is that right this minute Mr. Garfield is in a New York rehearsal room preparing to play Biff in a revival of “Death of a Salesman,” directed by Mike Nichols. And that the rehearsals — including Philip Seymour Hoffman and Linda Emond — are going along swimmingly. It’s a good thing that “Salesman,” which begins perfs on Valentine’s Day, is closing on June 2, a month before Spidey hits cinemas. Why? Because if “Death” were still running after Spidey’s debut, the stage-door scene would be pandemonium!
