Kiefer Tries To Have The “Touch”

With no new episodes of “Revenge” or “Modern Family” last night, there wasn’t much to tape and watch before bedtime, so I opted for the premiere of the new Kiefer Sutherland show, “Touch.” Sutherland stars as Martin Bohm, a New Yorker whose wife died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and who’s raising his 11 year-old son, Jake (David Mazouz). Jake, who narrated much of the pilot episode, actually hasn’t spoken since he was born, and cannot stand to be touched. He spends a lot of time working out elaborate series of numbers. The show certainly seems well-meaning, and it’s a nice shift from Kiefer’s last TV assignment, the Bush-era “24.” But I only made it through the first half.
