FDR: Worst Kind Of Movie Mash-Up
I knew as soon as I saw the book cover of “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” that the historical mash-up genre had taken a swerve for the worst. I knew it again when I heard about the June movie release “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.” But we’ve really reached the nadir with “FDR: American Badass!,” in which the Troma horror genre infuses an American political icon. FDR is played by Barry Bostwick, whom LW readers of all ages probably know best for “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” in both its original form and in its “Glee” homage. BTW, I hear Barry’s returning to “Glee” as a love interest for Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch), who’s getting a little too sweet lately.
