Play The Violin? No Shit, Sherlock
Benedict Cumberbatch (pictured) is in a lot of new movies: “War Horse,” “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.” He’s the villain in the next “Star Trek” movie. He’s also been playing in Danny Boyle’s “Frankenstein” onstage in London. But to play Sherlock Holmes on television, a second season of which is airing in Britain and will be on PBS in May, Cumberbatch had to learn to play the violin. Violinist Eos Chater was hired to coach him, and here’s how he did it.
