Jen Hudson Turned Down “Precious”
So it turns out that Jennifer Hudson turned down the lead role in “Precious” because she didn’t want to gain weight. In her new book, “I Got This: How I Changed My Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down†(Penguin, Jan. 10), Hudson says, “I had done that with Effie… and as much as I was moved by this film, I wanted to try a role that had nothing whatsoever to do with my weight.†Memo to Jennifer: Every role in some way has something to do with your weight. You’re an actor: your body is your tool.
