“Tintin”: What An Expert Thinks
Someone very close to me has seen “The Adventures of Tintin” and reports: ‘”Tintin” was something else. Something I’ve never seen before. (And I wasn’t even high!!!) The blending of live-action motion capture with high-resolution digital animation left me wondering many times throughout the movie: Is that real? Or just a (digital) mirage? It’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen before and I’ll definitely be seeing it again, though this time with a spliff and an IMAX screen. ‘My advice? Go into “Tintin” fully knowing (and remembering) that it is a comic. That way you won’t spend the first half of the movie going, “Oh yeah, right, that’s totally unbelievable.” Instead, you will find yourself just believing in its unbelievability.’
