It’s Not The Matrix, It’s The Cloud
If you haven’t read anything by David Mitchell, please get out of my life. Well, not quite, but the English novelist is such a first-rate storyteller, such a magician with words that I can’t imagine anyone who loves reading not wanting to experience at least one of his books. They’ve finally gotten around to filming one of them: “Cloud Atlas.” No, it has nothing to do with the Cloud that sits on your computer or smartphone. It is six interlocking stories that range from the South Pacific in the nineteenth century to a post-apocalyptic future. The movie version, just wrapped, stars Tom Hanks and Halle Berry and is co-directed by Tom Tykwer and the “It’s the matrix” brothers: the Wachowskis. I’m cautiously optimistic.
