Rihanna: Human-Rights Advocate
Regular readers of LemonWade know about my continuing fascination with Rihanna. You may think my fixation is entirely visual: I mean, just look at the photo at left (maybe that’s what I should wear on New Year’s Eve) and tell me she isn’t an icon. Occasionally, however, Ri-Ri shows herself to be not merely a Barbadian clotheshorse but an advocate for higher justice. Example: a Dutch magazine just described the singer’s style by reaching for the N word (as in “ultimate n—-bitch”) and Rihanna reacted like a lioness. She blasted off a message to the magazine: “I hope u can read english, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights!” The magazine’s editor resigned. Don’t fuck with Rihanna, my peeps.
