“No Ballet” For “Nutcracker” Movie
Adam Shankman says his upcoming movie of “The Nutcracker” won’t have ballet. What, you say? That’s like a porn movie without the sex. But Shankman says the film will return to the “Nutcracker”‘s roots in the ETA Hoffmann story that inspired the ballet. The project will be action/adventure (think Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”). Shankman’s approach may be wise, given that there’s no way he could make a better ballet movie than Aronofsky’s “Black Swan.”
