“Shame”: A Very Steamy Trailer
“Shame,” starring Michael Fassbender, is a contemporary story about sex addiction that feels more like New York in the late 1970s than the New York of today. However, it’s worth your twelve bucks. (But don’t, absolutely don’t, bring the kids: not that you could anyway, since it’s rated NC-17.) Bret Easton Ellis, who’s written one or two tales of sex-and-drugs angst, tweets: “Shame would have been so much more disturbing if [Fassbender’s character] had actually enjoyed the sex.”
