Harper Lee Letters Auctioned Off

Yesterday, a cache of letters by Harper Lee — author of “To Kill A Mockingbird” — were sold at the Nate D. Sanders Auction House in L.A. I don’t have word yet of what the items sold for. I do know that there were 13 letters, all written to Don Salter (pictured with Miss Lee). Of one letter, she begged him: “Please don’t put this on the internet.” I doubt that she trawls around online chat rooms (she has serious sight problems), but it’s nice to know that, even in her quiet Alabama life, she knows what the internet is.
