Will Bin Laden Movie Affect Election?
Can any work of art or entertainment any longer affect a Presidential election? I highly doubt it, which is why I think the possibility that Sony is considering moving the release date of Kathryn (“Hurt Locker”) Bigelow’s movie about Osama Bin Laden (pictured) until after November 2012 to be unnecessary. At least for election purposes. The 2012 election isn’t going to be decided on foreign policy, unless some cataclysmic event intervenes. And a foreign-affairs movie already has an uphill climb at the box office. Why make it worse by releasing it outside Oscar season?
