No, I Haven’t Watched “Pan Am”!
I can’t believe how many of my friends and family and LemonWade readers have asked me whether I watched the premiere of “Pan Am.” Answer: I taped it, but haven’t watched yet. Frankly, I haven’t really wanted to. The promotional poster, aside from being a “Mad Men” rip-off, is about the most blatantly sexist image I’ve seen this side of “The Playboy Club.” And, no, I don’t quite see the “wink-wink” post-modern irony in it. Meanwhile, this article discovers the truth about that era’s stewardesses: trolley dollies.
