Zooey Could “Choke A Mule”
Of “New Girl,” one of the new season’s palpable hits and more specifically known as a Fox comedy starring Zooey Deschanel (pictured) and having its second outing tonight, James Wolcott burps: ‘With enough winsomeness to choke a mule (and why would you want to choke a mule?), Daschanel’s Jess makes Marlo Thomas in “That Girl” look like Camille Paglia and Jess’s tryout attempts to act sexy are even more gawky and addled-brained than Chloe Sevigny‘s stoned-eyed seduction efforts in “The Last Days of Disco” (“There’s something sexy about Scrooge McDuck”).’ Yeah.
