“Moneyball”: Golden For Brad?
Every autumn, like the falling of the leaves and the arrival of Christmas catalogs, Hollywood releases a big sports-themed movie (“Remember the Titans”). This year, it’s “Moneyball,” starring Brad Pitt. I didn’t expect this to be more than get-the-guys-into-the-cinema guff, but some of the early reviews are full of praise. The last time a Michael Lewis book was adapted for the big screen, with “The Blind Side,” a big star won an Oscar. If the reviews continue to be good and the movie makes money (I’m sure it will), could this be Brad Pitt’s Academy Award?
