Madonna Shrugging Off Bad Reviews

Madonna’s new movie about Wallis Simpson, “W.E.,” was panned at the Venice Film Festival. (I’d hate to be Harvey Weinstein, whose company is releasing the film. I think he’s committed to spending money on an Oscar campaign. Hah!) Meanwhile, Madonna is already moving on. She’s back in New York, at her lavishly refurbished East Side townhouse, and gearing up to return to the recording studio to make a new album. Says Madge: “I need to move. I need to sweat. I need to make new music. I’m on the lookout for the maddest, sickest, most badass people to collaborate with.” Tip for Madonna: if you want to engage talented people under the age of 40, don’t use words like badass. Meanwhile, Madonna was at her most British diva the other day at the Venice Film Festival when a fan gave her a flower, she said thank you, and then whispered: “I absolutely LOATHE hydrangeas.”
