Doris Day Talks To Paul McCartney
I was looking forward to reading this conversation between Doris Day, who has a new CD about to come out, and Paul McCartney. But all of Doris’s responses are so resolutely upbeat (“I love animals,” “I loved my son,” “The guys in the band were so great”) that it’s almost as if a Stepford Doris has taken the place of the real thing. But she’s had so many hard knocks in her 88 years, who am I to complain that she gets through the day through unending cheeriness?
